FEES + PAYMENT

My session rate is $175. Payment is due in full at the start of each session and in most cases you will have a card on file that will be processed after each session and will be charged for no shows/late cancellations.

I am classified as an out-of-network provider. If you are interested in seeking reimbursement for “out-of-network” mental health services, and have a covered diagnosis, I am happy to provide you with a coded statement (super bill) that you can submit for negotiated reimbursement for services. You may also be able to submit these statements to your flexible spending account.

If you intend to seek reimbursement from your insurance, I recommend you call your insurance company ahead of time to inquire about reimbursement for “out-of-network” mental health services. You can locate the member services phone number on the back of your insurance card.

You can check your coverage by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits for an out of network provider?

  • Specifically, outpatient psychotherapy at a therapist office?

  • Do I have a deductible for out-of-network mental health services, and if so, what is the remaining amount I would have to pay before my health plan starts to reimburse me for any fees I pay out-of-pocket?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the maximum amount my plan will reimburse for mental health service code 90837 with a psychotherapist?

CONFIDENTIALITY

In general, everything discussed between client and therapist is protected by law as confidential. However, there are some specific scenarios in which I am mandated by law to break that confidentiality.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected abuse or neglect of a child under 18 years of age

  • Suspected abuse or neglect of an elderly adult 65 years of age or older

  • Suspected abuse or neglect of a dependent adult 18 years of age or oder

  • If a client is threatening to harm himself or herself (The therapist will make every effort to enlist client cooperation in their own safety. If they do not cooperate and the therapist believes they are a danger to themselves the therapist will take further measures to ensure the client’s safety)

  • If a client threatens serious bodily harm to another person

HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU’RE A GOOD FIT FOR ME?

Great question, research shows this is one of the most important pieces of a successful therapy experience. An initial phone consult is the first step in getting a sense of working together. If you have specific questions or concerns I suggest you jot them down ahead of time and feel welcome to ask them.

How long does therapy take to work ?

The short answer is that there is no official timeframe and that everyone is different. I meet each client with compassion for where they are starting from and recognize that each person approaches therapy at their own speed and with their own unique life experiences. During your consultation call and intake process there will be opportunities to speak more about what brings you to therapy and what you’re hoping to accomplish in therapy.
