Welcome to my practice. My name is Jessie Bannister, and I am a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience, having worked in the mental health field since 2012. Prior to becoming a therapist, I pursued a career in the corporate world. While there were certainly rewarding aspects to that path, I found myself most drawn to the interpersonal and relational elements of my work. This realization ultimately guided me toward my true calling in therapy. The decision to make a career change felt daunting at the time, but looking back, I can’t imagine doing anything else. I deeply believe in therapy’s ability to help people lead more fulfilling and meaningful lives. It’s a process I’m passionate about, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support my clients as they navigate their personal journeys.

My Approach Having walked many different paths in my own life, I bring a non-judgmental, down-to-earth, and practical approach to therapy. I work alongside each client to find the right blend of personal insight, skill-building, and committed action, ensuring that their time in therapy is both positive and effective. As an integrative therapist, I draw from a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), tailoring my approach to meet each individual’s unique needs.

My Experience I am a board-certified psychotherapist and a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Since 2012, I have had the privilege of providing therapy services across Marin, Sonoma, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, addressing a wide range of life experiences and challenges.

My professional journey has included roles in various settings, such as K-12 school districts, college campuses, community health organizations, and major medical facilities. I ultimately transitioned to private practice to offer greater flexibility and a more personalized approach to supporting my clients. In 2020, I adopted a hybrid model of teletherapy and in-person psychotherapy, allowing me to meet the evolving needs of those I serve.
